Circadian Solar is a fast growing and ambitious company developing and manufacturing concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) solar power systems, which are aimed at both off-grid and grid connected applications in the high direct sunlight regions of the world (the "Sunbelt"). The company is now accelerating its product and applications development programmes, and is recruiting high calibre, dedicated individuals with the ambition to develop their career in the Cleantech sector.
We are now recruiting a customer-oriented engineer to manage our growing interactions with a range of users of our high efficiency solar energy systems, from development of technical specifications and costings, through design and engineering, to installation and commissioning of our power solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment of feasibility of CPV power solutions to applications identified by Circadian and potential customers
- Direct engagement with customers to establish the design and specification of integrated solutions
- Management of the design and development of hardware and software components required for integration; this will involve hands-on design as well as project management of internal and external resources and suppliers
- Build and test of interfaces and integration of sub-systems
- Integration of Circadian CPV systems with customers' applications, at experimental, pilot and full scale level
- Monitoring the performance of CPV applications in close collaboration with the customers' staff and initiation of system changes to meet the application requirements
- Liaising with Circadian's business development, engineering, test and manufacturing teams to ensure that customers' expectations are met fully
- Development of costings of applications solutions
Candidate Requirements
- Excellent degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical or Systems Engineering
- A minimum of five years industrial experience working as a professional engineer in a relevant development or applications role
- Good project planning and management skills
- Experience or knowledge of Renewable Energy applications, such as water (desalination, wastewater treatment, etc.), mining, telecommunications, etc.
- Language skills (fluent in English, other languages an advantage)
- Experience of working in a customer facing role
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel worldwide
- Experience in the development or application of photovoltaic systems would be an advantage
